On this site I whole-heartedly recommend various books and materials for becoming a better ukulele player.
Some links are affiliate links and help support my efforts in the form of a few pennies here and there.
Thank you for your support.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- String numbers: A=1, E=2, C=3 & G=4
- Right hand finger lettering: P=Thumb, I=Index & M=Middle
- The patterns in this level require an additional finger and will be performed either P I M P I M, M I P M I P, I M P I M P, or I P M I P M.
- Each of the patterns uses only 3 of the 4 strings, either strings 1-3 or 2-4. Because of the unique tuning of the ukulele using just these string sets will usually outline complete chords without doubled notes (unisons).
CHALLENGE
Earn your Fingerstyle Level 5 patch by demonstrating three of the following fingerstyle patterns for a 3/4 or 6/8 time signature (each from a different grouping). You may use a song or songs you are working on to demonstrate the patterns, or one of the chord sequences you’ve learned so far. Demonstrated patterns should keep a consitent beat with no noticeable pauses between chords. Patterns may be played straight or swung.
